One-armed Australian adventurer and mountaineer — on mindset, preparation and the boundary between perceived and actual limits.
Paul Hockey is an Australian adventurer who has built a public body of work as one of the country's most accomplished one-armed mountaineers — putting him on stages around the country speaking on resilience, mindset and what's actually possible when most assumptions about limits are stripped away.
His speaking moves carefully between the lived reality of expeditions and the corporate application — the preparation, the team dynamics in conditions where mistakes have consequences, and the slow daily work of building the kind of mind that can sit with discomfort for a long time. The tone is measured rather than dramatic.
For event organisers, Paul is a strong fit for sales kickoffs, leadership programs, wellbeing days and any in-house program where the brief is to lift thinking on mindset, resilience and the boundary between perceived and actual limits. He works in-person and virtually.
Paul Hockey is a keynote speaker based in Queensland who speaks on inspiration, motivation and sport. Book through Executive Speakers Australia.
Audience was fascinated by Paul. The room was so quiet throughout his speech that you could hear a pin drop. His story was so inspiring that he had some people in tears. After his speech the students and business leaders were standing queue to be either photographed with Paul or just to have a few words with him. We would love for Paul to come back to our school to inspire the rest of the school students.Good Shepherd Catholic College
