Tammy Van Wisse is a world-record-breaking marathon open-water swimmer and the founder and chief executive of the Go the Distance Institute. She is the only person to have swum the 97.4 km Bass Strait, and holds record-breaking swims across Loch Ness and the Cook Strait and down the complete 2,438 km length of the Murray River. She has swum more than 65,000 km, won over 150 lifesaving titles and was named Australian Geographic's Adventurer of the Year.
