About Dan

Dan Rath is a multi-award winning, internationally touring Australian comedian. His breakout solo hour, Tropical Depression (2025), won the Best of the Fest Award at the Sydney Comedy Festival and the Director's Choice Award at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Later that year, he was named a New Face of Comedy at Just For Laughs Montreal — his set went viral on release, accumulating over 270,000 views in 48 hours. He was also handpicked to feature on The Alt Show showcase at JFL Sydney. Past solo shows have earned him the Piece of Wood Award at MICF 2023 for All Quiet Carriage Along the Inner West Line and a Best Newcomer nomination at MICF 2019 for Bubble Bath.

Dan has performed headline shows at Edinburgh Fringe, Soho Theatre London, and clubs across Europe. His debut special, I'm Not Doing Well Folks (2024), was released by 800 Pound Gorilla and has accumulated over 120,000 views on YouTube. He is the co-host of the cult comedy podcast Neurotic News alongside Damien Power.

Chortle gave him five stars and declared 'his mind works like no other'. The Guardian awarded four stars and praised 'gags that are pearlers'. The Age called it 'book yesterday'. Dan suits festival-style events, corporate audiences who want something genuinely surprising, and any room that wants a comedian at the early stages of what is clearly going to be a major career — already validated by some of the most competitive stages in the world.
