Former NRL fullback, Broncos captain and mental health advocate.
Darius Boyd played more than 300 NRL games across a career that ran from 2006 to 2020, won two premierships — with Brisbane in 2006 and St George Illawarra in 2010 — and was a fixture in the Australian and Queensland Origin sides for the better part of a decade. He captained the Brisbane Broncos from 2017 to 2019 and was widely regarded as one of the smartest readers of the game in his era.
What makes him an unusually credible mental health speaker is the candour with which he has talked about what came alongside that football career — periods of depression and identity crisis serious enough that he stepped away from the game to address them. In 2014 he admitted himself to a mental health clinic to treat depression, did not return for the remainder of that season, and later spoke publicly about his recovery. He has been an outspoken voice in the NRL on player welfare since.
Darius is a strong fit for healthcare, education and not-for-profit audiences and for any corporate event where mental health is being treated as a serious topic rather than a wellness sticker.

Darius was fantastic - he connected really well with our audience, stayed to answer questions and take photos and was just really engaged. We have had wonderful feedback from those who were there about his presentation.Seqwater
