About Guy

Guy Montgomery is an award-winning New Zealand stand-up comedian, podcaster and improviser who has won the NZ Comedy Guild Best Male Comedian Award three times — in 2017, 2020 and 2021. He has performed at the Just for Laughs festivals in Montreal, Toronto and Sydney, sold out runs at the Edinburgh Fringe and the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, and toured his podcast The Worst Idea of All Time across Australia, America and the UK. Co-hosted with Tim Batt, the podcast has passed six million downloads, and he is a core member of the improvised show SNORT.

In 2023, Guy's TV series Guy Montgomery's Guy Mont-Spelling Bee premiered on Three in New Zealand, and an Australian version followed on ABC TV in August 2024 — its debut drew an average overnight audience of 659,000 nationally and won its slot. His stand-up show My Brain is Blowing Me Crazy won Best of the Fest at the Sydney Comedy Festival and the Fred Award for Best New Show at the New Zealand Comedy Festival. In 2024 he hosted the Opening Night Comedy Allstars Supershow at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Season 2 of the Spelling Bee returned to ABC in 2025, the same year he won the Graham Kennedy Award for Most Popular New Talent at the Logie Awards.

Guy's comedy rewards audiences who pay close attention — his shows are built on fine detail and an absurdist logic that builds to genuinely surprising places. For events that want a performer with genuine television recognition, festival-level credentials, and a style that holds equally well in a theatre or a conference room, he is an excellent choice. Panel shows, comedy festivals, and corporate evenings all sit comfortably within his range.
