Olympic medallist and 11-time Commonwealth Games medallist with seven Commonwealth golds.
Hayley Lewis OAM was the sensation of the Auckland 1990 Commonwealth Games, winning six medals — five gold and a bronze — as a 15-year-old. She competed at three Olympic Games and won two Olympic medals at Barcelona in 1992: silver in the 800m freestyle and bronze in the 400m freestyle. Across Auckland 1990 and Victoria 1994 she won eleven Commonwealth Games medals, seven of them gold. Commonwealth Games Australia still lists her as an 11-time Commonwealth Games medallist.
Life after the pool is now a major part of what she speaks about: the transition from elite sport into family, business and broadcasting. Lewis hosted the Australian version of The Biggest Loser between 2010 and 2014, received a Medal of the Order of Australia in 2003, and now owns a gift and homewares store in Brisbane. She married Greg Taylor in 1997 and they have two sons, Jacob and Kai — Kai Taylor won silver in the 4x100m freestyle relay at the Paris 2024 Olympics. Hayley talks candidly about reinvention, the discipline of high performance and the kind of unglamorous consistency behind any sustained career.
She is a warm, accessible keynote for corporate audiences, school events and women-in-leadership programs where the brief calls for genuine, hard-won storytelling rather than headline highlights.
