Five-time Olympian, Sydney 2000 beach volleyball gold medallist — OAM recipient, author and wellness coach.
Natalie Cook competed at five Olympic Games — a record for an Australian beach volleyball player — and won gold at Sydney 2000, having already taken bronze at Atlanta in 1996. She received the OAM for her contribution to Australian sport. Across a career spanning more than a decade at the elite level, she and her partner built one of Australia's most successful beach volleyball partnerships through an approach to preparation and mental performance that Cook has since turned into a second career in wellness coaching.
What Natalie brings to a speaking engagement is the specific knowledge of what it takes to perform under the most pressured conditions imaginable — at a home Olympics, in front of the largest crowd most athletes will ever play in front of, when the stakes are unambiguous and there is nowhere to hide. She has spoken and written extensively on the mental side of that performance — the preparation, the self-belief, and the deliberate practices that allow athletes to access their best when it matters most. Her book Go Girl and her work as an award-winning wellness coach extend these insights to audiences well beyond sport.
For corporate conferences, leadership events, women's forums, and wellness programs, Natalie Cook speaks with the warmth and directness of an athlete who has genuinely reflected on her own experience and found what is transferable within it. Her sessions are not simply motivational — they are practical. Audiences leave with an honest account of what peak performance actually requires, and with specific tools for building the mental and physical foundations that make it possible. She is, above all, a competitor who chose to keep contributing long after the final whistle.
