Tom Cashman

About Tom

Tom Cashman is a stand-up comedian and writer known for his analytical and precisely constructed comedy style. He is best known as the assistant to Taskmaster Tom Gleeson on Taskmaster Australia, currently in its fifth season, and as the creator of the show Graphs — a sold-out hit at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival in 2022 that toured through Australia and the UK. His debut comedy special PESTS premiered on YouTube in 2024, and his 2024 show Everything sold out throughout Australia and Edinburgh.

Tom's reach extends well beyond live performance. A 2021 lockdown pushed him onto TikTok, where he has accumulated more than 120 million views. In 2022, a story about requesting a 'landlord reference' from a prospective rental agent made international news. He has appeared regularly on The Project and The Hundred with Andy Lee, contributed to weekly radio segments on Triple M and Triple J breakfast, and worked as a staff writer on ABC's Tonightly, Planet America, and Win the Week. He was selected for the Melbourne International Comedy Festival's Comedy Zone showcase in 2017.

Tom's style — precise, fast-paced, and genuinely surprising — translates well beyond the comedy circuit. Audiences who appreciate smart construction and a comedian who clearly has a point of view leave his shows feeling like they have watched something that rewards attention. He suits events where a more cerebral approach is welcome: industry conferences, corporate dinners, and festivals where the audience has a sense of humour about data, systems, and the absurdity of everyday life.
