About Urvi

Urvi Majumdar is a comedian, writer, producer and actor based in Naarm (Melbourne). She has performed to sold-out crowds at the Melbourne International, Sydney, Perth and Brisbane Comedy Festivals, and her second hour of stand-up, Burnt, was awarded the Moosehead by the Melbourne International Comedy Festival — given to artists who show outstanding potential. She has written regularly for Network 10's The Project and ABC TV's The Weekly with Charlie Pickering, and appears on screen in the ABC's critically acclaimed series Fisk, as well as Guy Montgomery's Guy Mont-Spelling Bee, The Cheap Seats, SBS's Celebrity Letters & Numbers and both seasons of the Nine Network's Metro Sexual. She was nominated for a Best Online Drama or Comedy Series AACTA Award in 2025.

Urvi created and stars in the online series Urvi Went to an All Girls School, developed through the highly competitive Screen Australia and ABC TV Fresh Blood initiative — a pilot version subsequently aired on the ABC in 2025. She has been part of Screen Australia-funded projects Swamped and Emu War, and was selected for the Australian Writers Guild's First Break program in 2024. In 2023 she opened for international acts Cat Cohen and Kaneez Surka. She is a regular guest presenter on ABC Radio, Triple J and Triple R, frequently appearing on the Friday Funny Bugger segment.

Urvi brings a fresh, intelligent voice to any event — as a comedy performer, host or keynote speaker. She speaks on family, culture and modern Australia, and has previously performed and spoken at university events including the University of Melbourne and the Australia India Youth Dialogue Conference. Her current live show, Miss!, was touring through 2025 and 2026. Previous corporate clients include the University of Melbourne and the Australia India Youth Dialogue Conference.
