Founded GirlBoss NZ at 16, now 17,500 members strong — Forbes 30 Under 30, Queen's Young Leaders medallist, and NZ's Gender Equality Ambassador.
Alexia Hilbertidou founded GirlBoss New Zealand at the age of sixteen — and it has since grown into New Zealand's largest organisation for young women, with 17,500 members. She has been named in Forbes 30 Under 30, received a Queen's Young Leaders Medal for Services to the Commonwealth, and served as New Zealand's Gender Equality Ambassador. She is the youngest person to have represented New Zealand at the United Nations in New York, has been named Pacific Young Entrepreneur of the Year in both 2020 and 2022, has spoken at the United Nations and the World Economic Forum, and is a National Geographic Explorer and VIP Scientific Communicator for NASA. She has flown with NASA.
What makes Hilbertidou exceptional is the scale and seriousness of what she has built at an age when most people are still working out what they want to do. GirlBoss is not a side project — it is a functioning national organisation with a demonstrated impact on young women's participation in STEM and entrepreneurship, and it was built by someone who had no established platform when she started.
She suits youth leadership events, women in STEM conferences, educational institutions, and corporate events focused on the future workforce. Her story resonates with audiences of all ages — not because it is extraordinary, but because it makes the gap between ambition and action feel smaller and more crossable.
Alexia Hilbertidou is a keynote speaker and MC based in New Zealand who speaks on diversity & inclusion, education and inspiration. Book through Executive Speakers Australia.
I've been going to HR conferences for over 20 years, so I've seen a whole generation of talks about generations. I've always been a bit cynical about them. But Alexia provided a practical, insightful, funny, nuanced, and original presentation about Gen Z. NASA, David Beckham, Jamie Oliver, and the Queen have all had a chat to Alexia Hilbertidou about Gen Z and her work at GirlBoss NZ - maybe you should too!CEO, Kienco
I can honestly say, if you want an inspirational young social entrepreneur to positively challenge you and your team on clarity of purpose, age, gender and getting stuff done, then you need to talk to Alexia.General Manager, Innovation and Transformation, Datacom
Alexia's vision and drive is so inspiring and she was so relaxed and positive to work with. Alexia is a fantastic ambassador for young people and we wanted to hear her perspective on the world. She is a very driven and motivated person who inspires those around her and her speech was a great conversation point when discussing what motivates the next generation. We gave our delegates a window into the world of a highly motivated woman who is doing amazing things to help other young women. Alexia is fantastic, I encourage any event organiser to use Alexia to inspire attendees.Events Manager, Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand
