Mark Carter and Beza Mickan-White — joint keynotes, workshops and co-hosting on communication and belonging
MC Presents is the joint act of keynote speaker and behavioural analyst Mark Carter and presenter, MC and community advocate Beza Mickan-White. Mark has spent nearly three decades in global learning and development, presenting to audiences of up to 3,000 in the room and 12,000 online, with simultaneous translation into more than 20 languages. He is the author of Add Value, published globally by Wiley, and the creator of ORATOR, a long-running communication program for leaders. Ethiopian-born and Australian-raised, Beza brings a decade in creative direction, live event production and brand storytelling. She has fronted major sporting broadcasts, interviewed elite athletes and partnered with brands including Adidas, ASICS and Foot Locker, and she is Head of Partnerships & Community Engagement at OzChild.
What sets the pairing apart is the distance between them — and how deliberately they use it. Two presenters from different generations, cultures and careers share one stage, so the gaps audiences are asked to bridge are modelled in front of them. Mark brings the structure of behavioural science, emotional intelligence and the psychology of influence; Beza brings cultural intelligence, a host's feel for the room and years spent creating spaces where people feel they belong. The result is content with real rigour, delivered with warmth, humour and genuine stage chemistry.
Mark and Beza deliver joint keynotes on communication in a noisy, multi-generational workplace and on building high-trust teams and workplace communities, along with tailored workshops on presentation skills, collaboration, change and emotional intelligence. As co-hosts they can carry a conference across one day or several — from executive panels and audience Q&A to gala dinners — and they also run programs for students in Years 10 to 12. Organisations come away with practical frameworks for how their people communicate, connect and take shared ownership of the culture they work in.

A Communication Keynote in Modern ‘Movements’
Communication in the corporate world hasn’t just evolved, it’s been overwhelmed. Across multi-generational workforces, hybrid teams, and endless digital channels, the challenge isn’t just being heard; it’s ensuring your message is understood. When context disappears and noise takes over, misinterpretation, friction, and siloing quickly follow.
In this high-impact keynote, Mark and Beza cut through the complexity of modern workplace communication and bring it straight back to what drives results: the human behind the message.
Blending behavioural psychology, executive presence, and lived cross-generational perspective, Mark and Beza decode how to land effective messages across different age groups, personality styles, perspectives and corporate environments. They explore what happens when trust breaks down or intent gets lost in translation and, more importantly, deliver actionable strategies to fix it.
This isn’t about rigid scripts or polished slide decks; it’s about ownership, authenticity, and EQ. Whether communicating up to executive leadership, across diverse teams, or out to clients (in person, virtually, or on demand!) you and your people are the signal. In an era dominated by artificial content and constant pinging, the teams that succeed aren't the ones communicating the most. They’re the ones communicating with clarity, presence and real human connection.
• 4 Timeless truths of communication often lost in the digital age!
• 9 Communication ‘movements’ for improving modern day communication
• 9 non-negotiable traits of EQ to enhance communication, trust and collaboration
(This keynote works in powerful synergy with their joint community and trust keynote, ‘The Architecture of Belonging’. Where communication is about how we show up as individuals in a noisy world, belonging is about what we build together once we get there.)
Building High-Trust Teams & Workplace Communities That Matter
In an era of hybrid work, rapid change and digital overload, organisations are discovering that physical proximity isn't the same as true belonging. Visibility doesn't guarantee value, and having a broad corporate network doesn't mean your people feel supported. Real workplace community doesn't happen by accident: it must be deliberately designed, built and sustained.
In this high-impact joint keynote, Mark and Beza bring together lived experience, behavioural science and cultural insight to explore what genuine belonging means in a modern business context. Why it directly impacts retention, performance, and psychological safety, and how every leader and team member plays an active role in creating it.
From the invisible cultural barriers that silently isolate team members to the subtle organisational structures that foster true inclusion, Mark and Beza challenge the illusion of passive connection. They replace it with an actionable blueprint for building resilient workplace communities grounded in trust, psychological safety and shared accountability.
This session moves beyond warm sentiment into practical design. Belonging isn't accidental or passive: it is actively shaped through clear intention, active participation, and mutual ownership. Belonging isn’t something you find. It’s something you build. Ultimately this session brings a shared ownership blueprint to build access, break down silos and foster shared accountability across business tiers.
• 8 Architectural Components: A practical framework for designing meaningful workplace communities and high-performing team cultures.
• 5 'Invisible Taxes': Identifying and eliminating the hidden cultural frictions that prevent genuine belonging, engagement, and cross-functional trust.
• 4 Cultural Traditions: Enduring practices that high-trust organisations use to maintain alignment, connection and psychological safety over time.
(This keynote works in powerful synergy with their joint communication skills keynote, ‘The Human Signal.’ Where communication is about how we show up as individuals in a noisy world, belonging is about what we build together once we get there.)

While digital tools dominate the daily lives of the next generation, the skills that drive real-world success cannot be downloaded, scrolled through, or replaced by AI: authentic communication, emotional intelligence, active listening, and confident self-expression.
Underpinned by behavioural science and real-world student scenarios, Mark and Beza deliver a transformative 'journey program' pathway designed to reclaim human connection in the digital age. Research consistently shows that these core interpersonal capabilities directly elevate student well-being, academic performance and future employability.

Mark and Beza delivered fresh reflections on how we lead and serve in business and life: Fierce, grounded, and bold, real talk and presence that elevated the room. Together, a powerhouse duo that left us inspired and ready to rise.Chair, Women Making It Work
Beza and Mark recently took a trip to our school in Melbourne’s West. Their communication prior to the event was second to none; they were constantly checking in regarding the school’s wants and requirements for the excursion and showed such attention to detail. They checked in at every stage along the way, and they were more than accommodating in meeting the outcomes for the students. When they got here, they were so warm and inviting. The sessions they had prepared were so well planned, thought out, and executed. They were incredibly engaging, and even students who are normally shy to participate were involved. Both staff and students who attended the event sang the praises of both Mark and Beza. We have already booked them in again for next year!VM Co-ordinator, Point Cook Secondary College
