NBA champion, No.1 overall NBA draft pick and three-time Olympian for the Australian Boomers
Andrew Bogut is one of the greatest Australian athletes of his generation — the first Australian to be drafted number one overall in the NBA Draft, an NBA Champion with the Golden State Warriors in 2015, and a three-time Olympian for the Australian Boomers who also represented his country at two FIBA World Cups. His career in North American professional basketball spanned more than a decade at the sport's highest level, and in 2025 he was inducted into the FIBA Hall of Fame.
Andrew's path to NBA stardom was far from linear. Plagued by injuries that would have ended most players' careers, he demonstrated a resilience and competitive spirit that made him one of the most respected and admired players in the league — not just for his ability on the court, but for his intelligence, his directness and his willingness to engage seriously with questions of sport, culture and society.
Since returning to Australia, Andrew has built a portfolio career that spans business investment, media commentary and speaking, and he was appointed an assistant coach of the Sydney Kings for the 2025–26 NBL season — bringing the same analytical rigour and directness to his post-sport career that defined him as a player. He is known in the media for commentary that is refreshingly unfiltered, and as a speaker he brings genuine insight into elite performance, team dynamics and the mental demands of competing at the world's highest level.
Andrew Bogut is a keynote speaker based in Queensland who speaks on business strategy, leadership and motivation. Book through Executive Speakers Australia.
On the 28th & 29th of June 2017 we held our Annual OBrien Real Estate Summit at Caulfield Racecourse in Melbourne. It’s our biggest event on our training calendar where we hosted 14 speakers with 420 attendees. On day 2, for our finale and to close off our conference we had the pleasure of having Andrew Bogut present. Andrew was absolutely inspiring, moving and motivating, he was very real in his storey. Andrew spoke about his background, his journey, a winning mindset, playing as a team and dealing with failure. It was touching listening to his humble beginnings and the hard work he put in to achieve the pinnacle in his sport as an Australian athlete. If the opportunity arises I would highly recommend and encourage any organisation that is seeking an A lister Keynote speaker to invite Andrew to Lead, Speak, Motivate & Inspire any demographic group of people. He has changed and made a positive difference in our organisation and I thank him for it.Corporate Director, OBrien Real Estate
