Benny Darsow

About Benny

Benny Darsow is a live stand-up comedian known for a playful, conversational style and an effortless connection with his audience. Originally from Adelaide, he performs regularly across the country as both host and headline act, and spends much of the year entertaining audiences aboard Carnival Cruise Lines. A favourite at The Sydney Comedy Store, he has appeared at major comedy festivals nationwide and built international experience performing across the United States, Canada, Malaysia and the UK.

What distinguishes Benny is range. Comedy clubs, festival rooms, cruise ship theatres and corporate functions ask very different things of a comedian, and he has spent years working all of them. Reviewers have noticed. The Herald Sun called him one of the most versatile and adaptable comedians it had seen; The West Australian praised his ability to turn the most mundane situations into laugh-out-loud moments; The Advertiser singled out his cleverly crafted material and slick improvisation skills. With a Bachelor of Commerce and a strong sporting background, he also understands the corporate rooms he plays.

That combination makes him equally effective as a comedian, MC or event host. He reads a crowd quickly, builds rapport without forcing it, and keeps a program moving while making the room laugh. For conferences, awards nights, end-of-year functions and gala dinners, Benny Darsow brings quick wit, professionalism and relatable humour that leaves audiences laughing long after the show ends.
