Rugby league's most-capped player — 430 NRL games, 42 State of Origins, two World Cups as captain
Cameron Smith played 430 NRL games for the Melbourne Storm between 2002 and 2020, more than any player in the history of rugby league. He appeared in nine grand finals and won three premierships — 2012, 2017 and 2020. He played 42 State of Origin matches for Queensland from 2003 to 2017, across eleven series victories, and captained the side from 2012. He captained Australia to Rugby League World Cup titles in 2013 and 2017.
In 2017, aged 34, he completed a clean sweep — the NRL minor premiership and premiership with Melbourne, the Origin series with Queensland and the World Cup with Australia. He holds the all-time NRL records for most games played and most points scored, won the Golden Boot as International Player of the Year in 2007 and 2017, and won two Dally M Medals. He retired in March 2021 after nineteen seasons.
Cameron speaks on leadership, team culture and sustained high performance — drawing on what it takes to hold a standard across two decades at the elite level and build the kind of cohesion that delivers under the most intense pressure.

Cameron’s many on-field records speak for themselves, but perhaps his greatest achievement is how grounded he has remained throughout it all. He is an intelligent, well-spoken family man with a unique ability to connect with people from all walks of life. We are fortunate to have him in our game.Todd Greenberg, Former National Rugby League Chief Executive Officer
Cam has won everything in the game, but also has exemplary leadership skills, off-field gravitas and enormous pulling power – when he talks people listen. If I’m setting up a new team I’d make him the captain-coach, simple as that.Matthew Johns, Fox Sports Media Personality
