Advertising and brand strategist and Gruen panellist — on AI, branding and how organisations communicate.
Carolyn Miller is an advertising and brand strategist, a regular panellist on ABC TV's Gruen since 2009, and Founding Director of the communications consultancy The Honeycomb Effect. She spent more than twenty years as strategic lead at award-winning agencies before starting her own business, and she is MBA qualified. Her consultancy work spans brands including Nespresso, Yahoo!, Pfizer, Lend Lease and the Australian Institute of Sport.
Her focus now is the near-term shifts artificial intelligence is driving in how organisations communicate — what AI inside everyday office software changes about the work, what AI-generated content does to a brand's reputation, and where the practical limits sit. She is particular about evidence, careful about claims, and clear-eyed about what is actually known versus what is currently being said. Alongside AI she speaks on branding, marketing and advertising strategy, generational marketing and the future of work, entrepreneurial thinking, and gender equality and diversity in business.
Beyond Gruen she has appeared across Australian television including the Today Show, Sunrise and ABC News 24, which makes her a recognisable presence as well as a substantive one. For event organisers, Carolyn is a strong fit for leadership conferences, strategy days, marketing and technology events, and any in-house program where the brief is to give senior people a disciplined view of how communication and branding are changing. She also works as a master of ceremonies for conferences.
Carolyn Miller is a keynote speaker based in New South Wales who speaks on artificial intelligence and innovation. Book through Executive Speakers Australia.
This presentation will show how it is not only the individual will become even more muted with the glossy AI lens applied over emails and social media, but how the barriers to others making content about your business or brand are gone. Forget 1 star reviews and negative feedback online - the new battlegrounds are slick YouTube videos, TikToks and AI generated social content. And it's already here.
AI is moving into the mainstream – from integration with common office software like Microsoft Office and Google Workspace, to predictive answers and creative solutions from programs like Chat GPT, the way that we use technology to work, communicate and interact is about to fundamentally change. There’s so much opportunity to be had in this tech evolution, and this presentation breaks down the everyday advantages of what we can do.
From business, to marketing, to culture – how will you adapt to the AI world?
From brands, to employees to families - we all shifted our behaviour in 2020. But we need to shift again, as nothing is going back to "business as usual".

Carolyn, your presentation on the day was insightful, entertaining and exactly what we were after. I could not have asked to work with a better team. The feedback from all stakeholders has been overwhelmingly positive and I couldn't be happier with how the event ran.
