World record open water swimmer — 124.4km non-stop, 42 hours, Bahamas 2014
Chloë McCardel is the World Record Holder for the longest non-stop ocean swim — 124.4 kilometres in 42 hours in the Bahamas in 2014, ratified by the Marathon Swimmers Federation and certified by Guinness World Records. She is the most successful English Channel swimmer of the 21st century and ranks second overall in the sport's history, with 23 awards and trophies from the Channel Swimming Association. She is a four-time Fastest Channel Swimmer of the year, the first and only Australian to complete a triple non-stop crossing of the English Channel, and an inductee of both the International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame and the International Swimming Hall of Fame.
Beyond her own records, Chloë has coached more than 150 people to swim the English Channel — including a sixteen-year-old schoolgirl, a farmer who became the oldest person in history to complete a double non-stop crossing, and corporate executives from multiple countries. She has coached Prince Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa to a World First marathon swim from Saudi Arabia to Bahrain. Her international media coverage spans BBC, New York Times, CNN, The Guardian, Sky News UK, CBS, and ITV.
For corporate audiences, Chloë translates her experience directly: peak performance under extreme conditions, the psychology of the mind, leadership under pressure, and energy management for executives. She has presented to financial and technology leaders including Westpac, Optus, Intel, and HP, and is regularly asked to return. Those who have seen her speak describe her as someone who 'pushes the boundaries of human endeavour' and leaves audiences with frameworks they can apply immediately.
