About Chris

Chris Parker is a New Zealand comedian, actor, writer, and theatre graduate of Toi Whakaari O Aotearoa whose career spans stand-up, television, film, and a published novel. His 2018 New Zealand International Comedy Festival show Camp Binch won the prestigious Fred Award for Best Show, before selling out the Edinburgh Fringe to five-star reviews. He won Best Actor at the 2017 Wellington Theatre Awards for his role in Hudson and Halls Live!, has appeared in feature films including Baby Done, The Breaker Upperers, and Nude Tuesday, and won the inaugural Topp Prize from the New Zealand Comedy Trust in 2022 — recognising Aotearoa's most generous and gifted comedian.

Chris is a regular face on New Zealand television across 7 Days, Have You Been Paying Attention? NZ, Jono and Ben, Funny Girls, and Taskmaster New Zealand. He hosted the 2024 New Zealand Comedy Festival Galas, won his episode of Thank God You're Here on Australian television, and has appeared on Have You Been Paying Attention? Australia and the 2025 Melbourne International Comedy Festival Gala on ABC. His debut novel Here for a Good Time was published through Allen & Unwin. The comedy-documentary special Chris Parker: Back To School and the sitcom Double Parked — co-created and co-written with Alice Snedden — further demonstrate his range as a writer and performer.

Chris brings something few comedians can offer: genuine warmth, wit, and a theatrical background that gives his performance an extra dimension on any stage. His sold-out tours across Australia and New Zealand and his growing Australian television presence make him a reliable and genuinely crowd-pleasing choice for galas, festivals, and events looking for a headliner with cross-Tasman recognition.
