Ghanaian-born Australian chef, broadcaster and storyteller — on culture, food and connection across generations.
Dorinda Hafner is a Ghanaian-born Australian chef, author and broadcaster whose television series have introduced viewers across the country to the food traditions of Africa, the Caribbean and the wider diaspora. She emigrated to Australia in 1977 and settled in Adelaide, and spent ten years as the television chef and presenter alongside Bert Newton on Good Morning Australia. Her books include A Taste of Africa, Dorinda's Taste of the Caribbean and United Tastes of America, and her programs have screened in more than 40 countries. Decades on stage, screen and in print have made her one of the warmest and most distinctive cultural voices working in Australian food.
Her corporate speaking blends the showmanship of a live cook with substantive content on culture, hospitality, generational storytelling and the role of food in bringing communities together. The combination is unusual — entertainment and depth in the same hour. She has been named African Australian Woman of the Year and is a People of Australia Ambassador.
For event organisers, Dorinda is a strong fit for cultural events, gala dinners, awards nights and in-house programs where the brief is warmth, storytelling and a distinctive voice that doesn't sound like every other keynote on the bill. She also speaks on social trends, women in business and her own weight-loss story.
Dorinda Hafner is a keynote speaker and entertainer based in South Australia who speaks on diversity & inclusion and inspiration. Book through Executive Speakers Australia.
Welcome to Dorinda’s world! Dorinda, the much loved diva of all things delicious has lost an enormous amount of weight. She quips she has shrunk from a main course to the size of an appetiser.
Her enthusiasm was infectious and her ability to entertain ( Funny) , educate (informative) and interact ( had us all dancing) with all ages was amazing and just what we needed. She managed to get everyone involved from our shy conservative types to the extroverted types, women and men all loved her bubbly personality and presentation. Personally, I also appreciated how she was able to tailor her presentation specifically to my theme and needs, in what was relatively short notice. Much appreciated.Rossdale Homes
