Award-winning producer, director and comedian — a rare MC who turns decades of show business war stories into a keynote that leaves audiences enlightened and laughing.
Glynn Nicholas is a multifaceted producer, director, actor, comedian, writer, and mentor celebrated for his innovation in comedy, musical theatre, and live performance. Born in Bristol and raised in Cardiff, he emigrated to Australia in 1973 under assisted passage — initially working in sales, manual labour, and as a bus conductor, with no apparent inclination for the performing arts. Everything changed in 1976 when, on a working holiday in Crete, he learned guitar and travelled to Germany to busk, developing a unique blend of music, comedy, and mime. Over the next ten years he won numerous awards across Australia, Europe, and the United States, and undertook intensive study in mime with Zora Semberova in Adelaide and in circus skills at Hayward College, San Francisco.
That unconventional path produced one of the most genuinely versatile performers working in Australian corporate events today. Glynn has created and produced one-man shows, musicals, plays, vaudeville and burlesque productions, television series, variety shows, and major special events. His stage productions have received critical acclaim in Australia and internationally — particularly Certified Male, co-written with Scott Rankin, which toured multiple countries, and Song Contest – the Almost Eurovision Experience. Away from the stage, he works as a sought-after freelance producer and director, helping actors, comedians, and keynote speakers refine their content, stagecraft, and audience engagement.
As a Master of Ceremonies, Glynn is thorough, funny, adaptable, and deeply comfortable with the unexpected. He researches every client carefully, reads a room instinctively, and can combine MC duties with a guest entertainment spot or a standalone keynote — all without a single PowerPoint slide. His keynote addresses draw on decades of show business experience from both sides of the production: what it feels like when a show becomes the unexpected hit of the world's biggest arts market, and what happens when a sure-fire production becomes a box office flop and you have to sell your house. He is a rare speaker whose humour is inseparable from his insight.

There is in Nicholas a fine lightness, a way of holding his audiences, however confidently, very gently in his most capable hands. The Sunday Age

Glynn Nicholas was our choice as MC. He demonstrated an ability to listen, while taking every opportunity to suggest through his own experience (and the routines and characters he can bring to a conference) ways we could achieve our objectives. His research on the company was thorough. At all times Glynn was cooperative, reliable and professional.Mortgage Choice
