Founder of Boost Juice — grew a kitchen-table idea into the Southern Hemisphere's largest juice chain
Janine Allis took Boost Juice from her kitchen table in Adelaide to become the largest juice and smoothie business in the Southern Hemisphere. From a single store in May 2000, the company grew to a network of more than 187 outlets across Australia and over 50 stores overseas, operating across Asia, Europe, Russia, the Middle East and the UK through franchising. Boost was ranked seventh on BRW's list of fastest growing businesses in 2010, and Allis appeared on the magazine's Young Rich List with a net worth reported at $36 million.
In May 2010, US-based private equity firm The Riverside Company acquired a major stake in the Boost Investment Group, providing the financial backing and international expertise to scale the brand globally. Allis attributes the success of Boost not to any single element but to a combination — the juices, the store design, the staff culture and, above all, a genuine belief that being healthy does not have to be hard. She has consistently placed integrity and honesty at the centre of how she builds culture.
For event organisers, Allis is a rare proposition: a founder who built something genuinely significant from nothing, and who can speak with authority on entrepreneurship, franchise growth, brand building and the culture that underpins all of it. She is a natural fit for business conferences, entrepreneurship events and forums focused on growth, leadership or women in business.
Janine Allis is a keynote speaker based in New South Wales who speaks on business strategy, leadership and motivation. Book through Executive Speakers Australia.
Taking Boost Juice from an idea to an international Australian iconic brand with four kids in tow has not been an easy path. Along that journey there have been successes, failures, huge highs and equally huge lows, but the most important things are the mistakes made and lessons learnt along the way.
During her keynote presentations she talks about the journey of Boost Juice and Retail Zoo including the top ten lessons that she has learnt that have made her the success she is today. Her presentations include topics such as: always being the student, adapting to customer’s needs to survive and taking accountability for everything we do. Recently added are her insights into what it was like to be dropped on a desert island for 50 days on her recent adventure with Channel Ten’s Australian Survivor, an experience that has been life changing for her.
Janine’s presentations are light hearted and engaging with many take-outs for the audience.
