Paralympic medallist in alpine skiing and cycling — first Australian to medal at both a Winter and a Summer Games.
Jessica Gallagher is the first Australian athlete — Olympic or Paralympic — to win medals at both a Winter and a Summer Games. She won bronze in the visually impaired slalom at Vancouver 2010, becoming the first Australian woman to medal at a Winter Paralympics, and took a second alpine bronze in the giant slalom at Sochi 2014. She contested long jump and javelin at London 2012, then moved to tandem cycling, winning bronze in the 1km time trial at Rio 2016 and silver at Paris 2024 — all while legally blind.
That ability to repeatedly reinvent herself as an athlete — different sport, different pathway each time — sits at the heart of what she speaks about. She also won two Commonwealth Games gold medals in tandem cycling at the 2022 Games, in the match sprint and the 1km time trial, having taken two silvers in the same events in 2018. Jessica talks about deliberate reinvention with a clarity that's useful to corporate audiences facing their own change pressures, and she does so without ever lapsing into cliche.
She is also a registered osteopath, holding a Master of Osteopathy from RMIT, and an ambassador for Vision Australia and Vision 2020 Australia; in 2026 she worked as a commentator for Olympic Broadcasting Services at the Milano Cortina Winter Paralympics. Jessica is a strong fit for events focused on resilience, inclusion and women in leadership.
