Award-winning journalist and Sunrise host — more than a decade as the face of Seven Network breakfast television
Melissa Doyle is an award-winning journalist and news presenter who spent more than a decade as host of the Seven Network's flagship breakfast programme Sunrise — one of the most sustained and high-profile roles in Australian television. She subsequently hosted Seven's leading current affairs programme Sunday Night for five years, anchored the national 4pm news service for two years, and has presented weekend breakfast on Smooth FM for the NOVA Entertainment network. Her 2014 memoir, Alphabet Soup, was a best seller.
What Doyle brings to the platform is rare: genuine editorial depth alongside the kind of on-screen ease that only comes from years of live, unscripted television. She has covered major news stories around the world and interviewed figures ranging from Jane Fonda, Katy Perry and Stevie Nicks to Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden and Justin Bieber. With co-host David Koch she produced landmark television specials including TV Turns 50 and the Reach out to Asia Tsunami Appeal — broadcasts that required composure under real pressure.
Mel is National Patron for Make A Wish and an ambassador for Westmead Children's Hospital, World Vision, the Children's Cancer Institute, the National Breast Cancer Foundation and the Federal Government's National Road Safety Council. For event organisers, she offers the credibility of a major broadcast career, the warmth of someone who has spoken to millions of Australians each morning, and the professional discipline to hold any format — awards nights, gala dinners, charity fundraisers and major corporate functions alike.
Melissa Doyle is a keynote speaker and MC based in New South Wales who speaks on media & journalism and women in business. Book through Executive Speakers Australia.
