Human behavioural profiler drawing on 13 years in law enforcement, often as the only woman.
Natalie Waters spent thirteen years in law enforcement in Australia and the Middle East, frequently as the only woman on the team. The work included boarding vessels in Australia's Southern Ocean and around the northern coastline on illegal immigration and drug operations, and overseas took her into government roles with intelligence agencies, the Prime Minister's Office and the Governor General, as well as close personal protection for H.M. The Queen. Psychometric testing identified her early as a risk taker, and the career that followed made the label look modest.
Facilitating hostage negotiation training for special forces is what moved her from acting on behaviour to studying it. Waters now works as a human behavioural profiler, teaching what she calls the codes and patterns of human behaviour — why people do what they do, how they make decisions under load, what their individual stress triggers are, and what pushes them to their mental and emotional limits. It is an unusual evidence base for a speaker on leadership and performance, drawn from situations where reading a person wrongly carried consequences most audiences will never face.
Waters speaks on leadership, risk taking, performing under pressure, adapting to change and self-belief, and on the realities of fly-in fly-out work and being the only woman in the room. She has presented at maritime conferences, for NSW Government Roads and Maritime, and within the financial sector at NAB, and makes the material relevant to whatever industry is in front of her. For conferences and leadership programs, she is a genuinely different proposition.

Natalie was great at communication in the lead up to the event and she was incredibly friendly and professional. Such an interesting woman but very down to earth and so warm. I found her keynote speech and Q&A to be so interesting, inspiring and fascinating and everyone at our Brisbane event love her. Very engaging too and happy to chat to our staff.Dementia Australia
