Paul Martell

About Paul

Paul Martell has been awarded Comedian of the Year 24 times across his career — a record that reflects not a single moment of success but three decades of consistent, high-quality performance across some of the most demanding rooms in Australian entertainment. He has performed at AFL and NRL Grand Finals, the Bledisloe Cup, the Australian Open, Formula 1, Melbourne Cup and Super V8 events — the kind of high-profile, high-pressure occasions where a comedian's craft is genuinely tested by an audience that did not come solely for the comedy. He is also one of Australia's most accomplished celebrity impressionists.

What makes Martell genuinely valuable to corporate event organisers is the precision of his professionalism. At the level he operates, the ability to read a room, adjust in real time and deliver a set that feels fresh without landing on anything that will create an HR conversation afterward is not a given — it is a rare skill, developed over years of doing exactly that in exactly the wrong conditions. His impressions add a layer of entertainment that is specific and current, not generic.

For gala dinners, award nights, product launches, conference closings and corporate celebrations of any scale, Paul Martell is the option that removes risk from the equation. Thirty years of performing at events where the stakes were high and the brief was tight has produced a comedian who arrives knowing what the room needs before he walks in. Audiences leave having laughed — genuinely, consistently, and without anyone wishing they had not.
