Former Fremantle GM of Football, dual All Australian, five-season captain and AFL broadcaster
Peter Bell is a former General Manager of Football at the Fremantle Dockers, a role he held from 2018 until he left the club at the end of 2024, and one of Western Australian football's most respected figures. During his AFL playing career with the Fremantle Dockers and North Melbourne, he was named All Australian twice — in 1999 and 2003 — captained Fremantle for five seasons, won the Ross Glendinning Medal in 2006, and served as President of the Australian Football League Players Association from 2003 to 2007.
Few people have seen elite football from as many angles. Bell has been the player, the captain, the players' association president and the senior administrator — a rare combination that gives his views on leadership, teamwork and perseverance an authority beyond the playing field. After retiring he also built a substantial media career, hosting his own talkback program on Radio 6PR for three years, fronting ABC Radio Perth's weekday breakfast program, and working as part of Channel Seven's national AFL commentary team. He stepped away from those radio and television roles to join Fremantle's football department.
Audiences get a speaker whose communication skills were sharpened in live radio and national television — articulate, intelligent and entertaining. He speaks on leadership, teamwork, goal setting, perseverance and overcoming obstacles, drawing on a career that demanded all five. As an MC, his media polish and football credibility make him a natural fit for sporting lunches, awards nights and corporate functions. For organisations in Western Australia and beyond, Bell brings elite achievement, senior football administration, and the broadcast craft to deliver both with ease.
