Stand-up comedian, corporate MC and former writer for The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
Simon Taylor is a Melbourne-born stand-up comedian who started on the Melbourne comedy scene and, within two years, met Jay Leno on a trip to Los Angeles and was asked to write for The Tonight Show — he was 24. He went on to become the first Australian to perform stand-up on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and has appeared at Just for Laughs.
Away from the microphone he has written for Shaun Micallef's Mad as Hell on the ABC and for Comedy Central in the United States, hosted Channel 31's late-night talk show Live on Bowen for two years, and was a featured act on ABC's Comedy Up Late. He hosts the web series Beat Streets with Simon Taylor and has written books including One-Night Stand. He has performed at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and toured from Albuquerque to New York, Cambodia, India and throughout Australia.
For conferences he works as both a stand-up and an MC: a short set after dinner, a longer set as the night's headliner, or hosting duties across a full run sheet. If the brief is a high-end gala, an awards night or an industry dinner that needs to feel a notch above the usual, Simon is a strong choice.
