Tom Potter founded Eagle Boys Pizza in Albury, New South Wales in 1987 — the first store traded briefly as Beagle Boys — and grew it into one of Australia's largest pizza chains before handing over control in March 2007. Under his ownership the business went from a single shop to in excess of 200 store openings across Australia and New Zealand, and by 2011 the chain had overtaken Pizza Hut to become the second-largest pizza maker in the country. It made him one of the most recognised franchise-building case studies in Australia.
