Paralympic wheelchair basketball captain, OAM recipient and ultra-runner who became the first amputee to finish the UTMB World Series Final
Troy Sachs OAM had his foot amputated at the age of two. Rather than a limitation, it became the foundation for a career spanning nearly three decades as one of Australia's most decorated Paralympic athletes — a captain of the Australian Men's Wheelchair Basketball team who drove the team's success through advocacy for inclusivity as much as for on-court performance.
Post-retirement, Troy founded The Blues Wheelchair Basketball Club and The REE Foundation, mentoring emerging athletes with disabilities and working to build a more inclusive sporting community. He has since extended his physical boundaries into ultra-running and mountaineering — and recently made history as the first amputee to finish under the cut-off time at the Ultra Trail Mont Blanc World Series Final.
Book Troy when you want a speaker who lives the values he talks about. His sessions address inclusivity, teamwork, leadership and peak performance, drawing on stories that are both extraordinary in their scope and grounded in practical lessons. His authentic storytelling connects with diverse audiences — from corporate conferences to community events — and leaves people questioning the limits they have accepted as permanent.
