Seven-time premiership-winning rugby league coach — five decades in the game, leadership lessons from the elite.
Wayne Bennett AM is one of the most decorated coaches in the history of rugby league. Across five decades he has coached Brisbane Broncos, St George Illawarra, Newcastle Knights, South Sydney Rabbitohs, the Dolphins and Queensland, winning premierships with Brisbane in 1992, 1993, 1997, 1998, 2000 and 2006, with St George Illawarra in 2010, and multiple State of Origin series with Queensland. His seven premierships from ten grand final appearances stand as the Australian rugby league coaching record for most grand final wins — the mark of a coach who has shaped not only teams but the entire culture of the game.
What Bennett brings to audiences is not a coaching manual but a philosophy about people. His approach to leadership has always been built on deep personal relationships, accountability, and an unflinching belief in the capacity of individuals to grow when they are challenged and supported in equal measure. The lessons he has drawn from managing elite athletes, assistant coaches and club boards translate directly into what every leadership team faces: how to build trust, sustain performance under pressure, and hold a group together when things go wrong.
On stage, Bennett is characteristically direct. There are no slides, no jargon, no management theory borrowed from a textbook. What audiences receive is the distilled wisdom of someone who has been coaching since 1976, making difficult decisions about people and performance. His talks on leadership, teamwork and goal setting leave audiences with a different way of thinking about what it actually takes to build something that wins.

The venue and environment for this presentation was very challenging - outdoor terrace, long and narrow, with an audience that had not seen each other for many months and wanted to catch up. Wayne commanded attention - and he got it!! Once the crowd had quietened down you could hear a pin drop - Wayne Bennett's content was right on brief - and his delivery was captivating.International Productions

Wayne Bennett was spectacular. You could hear a pin drop in the room while he spoke. He was to the point and right on the point that I was hoping that he would cover, i.e. Teamwork. He is so respected and it is very clear why he is so respected. Our group really enjoyed and appreciated Wayne's talk. In short, Wayne far exceeded my expectations.ARA Group
