Visual strategist and co-founder of Art of Awakening, with thirteen years in Singapore’s hospitality and tourism industry as Head of Admissions at SHATEC.
Irene Sunshine Hamons spent thirteen years in Singapore’s hospitality and tourism sector, culminating in her role as Head of Admissions, Youth Leaders Mentor and Chairman of the School Events Committee at SHATEC — the Singapore Hotel and Tourism Education Centre. In 2011, she co-founded Art of Awakening, a communication solutions consultancy that employs creative and visual thinking processes to help individuals and organisations clarify their thinking, shift their perspectives, and take meaningful action.
Irene works as a visual strategist — a discipline that uses drawing, mapping and visual recording not as decoration but as a tool for thinking. In meetings, workshops and keynotes, she makes invisible ideas visible, helping groups see what they are actually trying to say, decide and do. Her approach combines facilitation expertise with genuine warmth, and her sessions consistently create environments where people who might otherwise disengage find themselves genuinely present.
For leadership development programs, team facilitation, confidence and resilience conferences, and innovation workshops, Irene Sunshine Hamons brings an approach that is distinctive, practical and memorable. She is particularly effective with groups navigating change, complexity, or the challenge of translating strategic intent into aligned action. Testimonials describe her as someone whose authenticity and spirit change the atmosphere of a room.
